Emotion Kayaks is now in our 6th year of designing, developing, manufacturing and selling what we think are the best recreational and fishing kayaks in the industry. It has been and continues to be a totally fun ride – how often does a group of passionate and enthusiastic people get to do what they love and make a living at it? We paddle on rivers, bays, and oceans every chance we get, and we love getting pictures of people paddling, especially Emotion Kayaks, so bring it on!

Looking back from Day 1, three things stand out so much above all the rest for me; first is all the communication I have had with people from all walks of life either at the on water demo’s I have attended, or the hundreds of emails I get every day. It is amazing to me the passion people have for getting involved in kayaking – no wonder it’s the fastest growing outdoor sport. I have truly met some of the coolest people on the planet, all sizes, all ages, and all interesting.

The second thing that blows me away is the passion and dedication from many of the dealers I have met. I was in the specialty sports business as a retailer for 20 years before Emotion Kayaks, and believe me, nobody appreciates someone who loves what they do more that I. There are so many experienced, educated, and wonderful people out there working in kayak shops that not only know their product well, but they absolutely love what they do. Buying a kayak is a major purchase for most people, and kayaks last for so long, it makes perfect sense to support these shops that employ people who live, eat, and breathe the products they sell! Their expertise and advice will be appreciated for years.

Last but not least, it is nothing short of amazing to me how Emotion Kayaks product line has evolved, thank much to the wonderful and talented Jim Snyder. From the beginning our mission has been focused on consumer and dealer input on what is needed to allow people to really enjoy their paddling experience, and then hire the absolute best designer we could find, and produce the boats with the highest quality standards in the industry. The result is beautiful kayaks that paddle very well, and incorporate features that not only make sense, but also are unique. Anyone can copy another boat that is a proven great seller and stick their name on it, but it takes thousands of ideas, suggestions, and comments to produce a kayak that stands alone in performance and appearance. Looking at and paddling our new award winning Glide and Grand Slam kayaks I know this has been accomplished. Let’s all get out there and paddle more this year, and have ‘all the fun in the world’!
